the day before the snow came...

We (and i use "we" very loosely) finished raking our frost-bitten green leaves on tuesday and on wednesday-thursday snowed and kept snowing until 13 inches had been dumped on us.

the girls loved watching Will go crazy in the leaves

Will was really, really into the leaves this year....

Will dumped a pile of leaves on us 2 seconds before this picture was taken. thanks for the lovely "fall" effect, dude.

pumpkin carving!

Will's original design that Andrew had the privilege of cutting out for him.

This was Andrew's FIRST pumpkin to ever carve! He was a natural.

And...our very own homemade pumpkin pie. Will was dead set on making a pie out of a real pumpkin. In fact if i hadn't bought a baking pumpkin for him at the grocery store he probably would've refused to carve our other pumpkins from the farm. Anyway, it was a lot of work for something you can just open a can for,  but it did taste great and was a nice little bonding experience for the two of us. :)

Pumpkin Fun

We had a beautiful day to pick out pumpkins (it got up to 80 degrees last sunday when we were there) but unfortunately, most of the pumpkins never turned orange because it was SO cold and snowy last week.

Bottles and Babies

We really are going to do away with the bottles. someday.  But for now, these little girls just love them and they remind me of little cows when they drink so, oh well. Definitely by the time they turn 2...or 10 we'll give 'em up. ;)  Here are a few pics of one of the last nice days before our first snow and big freeze.

Passing time in the house of Sickness...

Here are a few pictures taken in the middle of our 10+ days of sickness. It was a horrible week- all 10 of us living in our house got sick. I think it was the swine flu...mostly because i want it to be the swine flu so i can consider myself immune for the next several months and won't have to have a flu shot...But anyway, we survived and we even had some picture-worthy moments in the midst of it all! :)

Most of the time we felt like doing what Sophie is doing in the above picture: however, in her case, she was actually just having a fit over M. taking something that obviously belonged to her.

sweet, snot-stained Madeline

Will was the commander in charge- at least he'd like the girls to think so.

Artistic farmers?

I don't know what sophie is doing in this picture but her little face cracks me up for some reason.

Here's a picture of the first time A and i got to "get out" after "the sickness" Thanks to my sis and brother in law, we were able to put our kids to bed and hit the town...unfortunately, by the time we were feeling better, Greeley decided to go all winter on us...brrr. it's been freezing ever since. Well, actually not quite freezing but still only like 50 something.... oh well. we were still happy to get out and breathe fresh air. :)
